Give Thanks in All Circumstances

A really really short post today, before a chinese one comes in soon. hahahhaaha, warning already.

The bible clearly calls us to give thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you!(1 Thes 5:18) But why? and how?

Many a times when we get back our grades, we tell ourselves, or people tell us, to give thanks in all circumstances. But you and i all know its one thing to give thanks, but another to give thanks gratefully and sincerely. And here's the thing, how are we to give thanks when our grades are TERRIBLE?!

Well, of course first off, this whole thing presupposes that you had tried your best, doing all things with all your heart, as for the Lord and not for men. Yet things just dont seem to be working your way. what now?

The bible has an answer, give thanks. and at this point, more often than not, people make a huge mistake of trying to force this feeling out, by thinking, "Well, it could have been worse! so God i thank you!" But is this what giving thanks in all circumstances, for what difference would this be from any other secular motivational self-esteem booster?

Let us not continue to belittle God in such a thought, for what it really should be is "it couldn't have been better! THANK YOU GOD!" Indeed, God works ALL THINGS for our good(Rom 8:28) and so in ALL THINGS, we shall give thanks! This is the will of God in Christ for you! that you delight in Him, and His promises, that come through Christ! that your identity in Him is secure! your salvation is secure! and with Christ who ever lives and pleads for us, we have a God who HIMSELF, loves us, and works FOR US, ultimately, for HIS GLORY!(John 16:27)

So now, give thanks in all circumstances, and live God's will for you in Christ Jesus, to be most satisfied in Him, that He be most glorified in you!
